Entrepreneurship Live x University of Louisville LoDI
We are proud to have hosted ‘Entrepreneurship Live!’ in collaboration with the Health Equity Innovation Hub at the University of Louisville. The panel featured a diverse array of expertise, including Dr. Ravi Ahuja, Founder & CEO of Optym; Rhona Bowles Kamar, Executive Director & Co-Founder of Feed Louisville; and Scott Spyker, President and CEO of Scott Sheldon LLC, each bringing esteemed credentials to the discussion. During the discussion, the panelists not only recounted their entrepreneurial journeys, including the challenges faced and strategies for growth, but also shared valuable insights on the skills and knowledge essential for entrepreneurial success. The event was at full capacity, showcasing the high engagement of our audience. The event aimed to spark the entrepreneurial spirit and expand perspectives, setting the stage for future innovation in the ever-evolving sectors of logistics, distribution, and entrepreneurship.
We are please to announce that our recent research on “A Simulation Study for a Safe Re-Opening and Operation of the Trager Institute Optimal Aging Clinic during the COVID-19 Pandemic” has been published in INFORMS Journal of Applied Analytics.

Students at Elkhorn Crossing School in Georgetown, Kentucky, gained hands-on experience with logistics and supply chain through a case study co-developed by the LoDI and Logility, a leading supply chain software company. Students learn about logistics concepts and analytical tools in their engineering technology class and explore it as a potential career path.

LoDI co-director Dr. Lihui Bai collaborates with PharmD Demetra Antimisiaris of Health Management and Systems Sciences and Dr. Sumei Zhang of the Department of Urban and Public Affairs on a project titled “The Pharmacy Accessibility Index (PAI) Project” funded by the University of Louisville’s Health Equity Innovation Hub. NSF Grant Award
The University of Louisville has launched a new Center for Organizational Readiness toward Enterprise 4.0 (CORE4.0) aimed at helping companies prepare for smart and connected technologies such as automation, AI, and the IoT. CORE4.0 will be co-directed by Dr. Faisal Aqlan (IE and LoDI affiliated faculty) and Dr. Lihui Bai (IE and LoDI co-director), lending their years of expertise in manufacturing systems and logistics and supply chain analytics, respectively.

LoDI collaborated with Digital Transformation Center (DTC) at the University of Louisville for the activities of the multi-year grant funded by the National Security Agency’s (NSA) for National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity for the development of a cybersecurity certificate.

The Logistics and Supply Chain (LSC) Division of IISE invites nominations for its annual Student Case Competition. Any team with three to five student members can participate in the competition to showcase their problem solving capability and analytical skills on a related LSC case. The winning teams, first, second and third places, of the competition will be recognized at the LSC Town Hall Meeting to be held at the upcoming IISE Annual Conference & Expo, ALL VIRTUAL, May 22-25, 2021
